Dollar coin

A friend sent me email to say if I am given the new dollar coin to ask for the paper dollar instead. Apparently the new coin does not say "In God We Trust." That's just dandy with me since I think this phrase violates the Separation of Church and State. I will happily circulate any of these coins I receive and will ask for them in change at every opportunity.

Sorry Bub, It does say "In God we Trust" it's minted on the edge of the coin. Very Euro.

I'm glad they didn't forget to put it on there.

I just read that a clause in the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2008 has ruled that "In God we Trust" must move from the edge of the dollar coin to one of the faces. See this article.

Nice to see Congress debating such weighty issues.
