The Man Who Cried
This film written and directed by Sally Potter was released in 2000. I completely missed it at that time but fortunately Showtime on cable had it in their mix this month. This poignant film with some wonderful actors(Christina Ricci, Johnny Depp, John Turturo and Cate Blanchett) made me suspend my disbelief that a young child could travel alone across the world, elude the Nazis in Paris, and arrive at her father's bedside to sing to him. I believe the music throughout the film riveted my attention so that I followed her until the very end of the film.
