I finished reading this novel last night. Janette Turner Hospital writes with such intensity and vivid imagery that as I was finishing it I found it nearly impossible to continue for more than half an hour at a time. I would put the book aside for perhaps ten minutes or so, then grab it up again to immerse myself in her compelling story.
This book effected me emotionally and physically. Thank you, Janette Turner Hospital, for an amazing read that will remain deeply embedded in my psyche.
